Subject:  Monthly General Meeting

Andrea Wilds calls the meeting to order at 6:35pm.

  • Andrea made a motion to approve the meeting minutes from October 8, 2018; VP

seconded, passed.


Teacher Representative Report – Ms. Waltemire & Jen Fogler:

  • Parent/Teacher conferences scheduling closes 11/15/18
  • American Education Week (can come any time)


Administration Report – Principal Hahn:

  • 810 students enrolled
  • Lead testing of all water source drinking outlets

– red sign posted on non-potable sources

  • Substitute teacher in place while Ms. Rudo is out
  • Informational Spotlight ideas for PTA meetings.

-New school reauthorization of elementary schools in December

-January; math presentation

-February; social emotional learning

  • Family Fitness and Boys Night Out coming up


Administration Report – Vice Principal Conklin:

  • COGAT Testing Dec. 3 – Dec. 14th
  • TE position open in RECC


President Report – Andrea Wilds:

  • Reviewed calendar of events: Nov. 19th dinner for teachers; Chipotle Restaurant Night – Nov. 28, 2018
  • Reviewed open PTA positions: Communications Chair, Staff Appreciation Chair; PTACH Advocacy Chair


Treasurer Report – Aaron Copsey:

  • $25K in bank account
  • Have to update by-laws; need to form, 5 member, by-laws committee
  • National PTA legislative conference in Alexandria, VA in February
  • Call to encourage purchases through Amazon Smile


Vice President Report (Fundraising) – Melissa Neally:

  • Review of upcoming Restaurant Nights
  • Chipotle – Nov. 28, 2018


Vice President Report (Activities) – Jessie Brady:

  • Movie Night status

added new apparel items (bags, tye dye, polo shirts, hats) and awaiting pricing

  • Community Relations – Adopt A Family – Nikita Alexander

proposed $300 budget for Christmas and $300 budget for Thanksgiving

4-6 families are in need; Ms. Ivey will spearhead donations

  • Restaurant Night – Melissa Neally & Blaire Bycoffee

  • After School Drama – Karice Parada

Mayfield Woods is doing Annie play Nov. 29th/30th; may be open to sharing stage/props

  • Cultural Arts – Kelley Sanabria

New Business

  • Possibility of enrolling/applying to be PTA National School of Excellence in 2019 for 2020



  • Discussed holding a “Bellows Spring Bazaar” where vendors would rent tables and sell items/services
